Out of this World 1/2

Before Flashback, there was Out of this World (US) aka Another world (Europe). A pioneer in cinematic gaming with very addictive gameplay, this is the one that inspired most story driven platformers afterwards only to be preceded by Prince of Persia. Despite the dated vector graphics (which are still impressive considering the time period) this title should definitely not be overlooked by the younger generations as it is easily one of the greatest games ever made. Many ports available but I chose to use the Sega CD version for its graphics and for the unofficial “sequel” Heart of the Alien. The whole game which in itself plays like a movie, played on Gens+.

I’m a game designer by nature and this is one of my favorite games, so I have already analyzed the game to death. I do like hearing other takes on it though, if they’re well thought out.
@Casanuda not calling you a troll, just saying @reply conversations tend to deteriorate quickly, so I just dont participate
@Casanuda Okay, sorry didnt mean to be an ass! I am very paranoid about trolls on youtube, so I tend not to get into @reply discussions with people, in principle.
@austgyu
I was just curious.
@Casanuda It was just an opinion. Take your crazy fanboy shit somewhere else.

Actually the difference between the two games is staggering even in execution. This game is all action and every scene has set pieces and background giving the sense of an active world with a complex (somewhat) ecosystem. Myst is a very deep world but it is shown in an entirely expository way.
This game’s mood is one of a Sci-Fi action movie while Myst is akin to a fantasy mystery novel. They couldn’t be more different and I really don’t see how you drew the comparison.
@Casanuda Yeah, anyone with eyes could make that conclusion. I was referring to the mood, atmosphere and general execution (the whole less is more minimalist design is chilling in both).
I personally prefer the SNES version’s sound quality and the technical marvel of such graphics before Star Fox and the FX Chip even existed.
@austgyu
The gameplay difference between Myst and Out of This World is so massive I don’t even know where to begin.
arghhhh NOSTALGIA!
@rogelioVela1985 Sorry, I’m tired and didn’t fully get the question at first. But I ca name two games similar. Prince of Persia and Flashback play similarly.
@NinjaGhostScorpion
possible to tell me which games there is?
@rogelioVela1985 There are a few. For instance, both take place in alternate worlds, both have the odds stacked against you, and both punish your mistakes with the protagonist getting killed nasty ways.
is there any similar games like out of this world and oddword?
i remember to play a game like out of this world but the character is a super her or something and he mets grand-grand-grand-grandfather.
